| I promised when I started updating again I'd put up Sunday Night Lyrics for my buddy in San Antonio.
This week's song is from Cory Morrow. It's a little too cheesy for Texas Country and is probably going to be breakthrough for him, but it's about Jesus, who I love, so here you go. Oh, and the beer you should drink? Shiner Bock. Definitely Shiner Bock, and yes, you can still drink beer while listening to Jesus Music.
He Carries Me By Cory Morrow:
There are smiles on the faces of the people passing by
There are scars on their hearts that they hide
Faithful and fragile doubting their paths
Carry the weight of the world on their backs
I know they've got a long way to go
Yes, I know we've got a long way to go
Chorus:
But I know every day I'm lucky just to breathe the air I breathe
And I hope everyone can feel this love that's bustin' out of me
And sometimes I forget to forgive even me
Sometimes I stumble that's when he carries me
Sometimes I stumble that's when he carries me (oh yeah, yeah)
Morning wakes uncertain what will come
I will question where my happiness comes from
I've lived in castles and out on the streets
I'm still seduced by the demons that make me weak
I know I've got a long way to go
Yes, I know we've got a long way to go
Chorus:
But I know every day I'm lucky just to breathe the air I breathe
And I hope everyone can feel this love that's bustin' out of me
And sometimes I forget to forgive even me
Sometimes I stumble that's when he carries me
Sometimes I stumble that's when he carries me
We've all suffered on this road we travel on
It is cold, it is lonely and it is dark
Aw, but there is hope and it's hope that carries on
Chorus:
And I know every day I'm lucky just to breathe the air I breathe
And I hope everyone can feel this love that's bustin' out of me
And sometimes I forget to forgive even me
Sometimes I stumble that's when he carries me
Sometimes I stumble that's when he carries me (oh yeah)
Guitar solo
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Oh, yeah

| Wow, it's nice to be back and to hear from all of you. I figured my blip on the radar would fail to register.
To answer your question Troy, no, the teacher does not get a shotgun. He is armed only with his wits and smart-assery, which he has in spades. I'm going to go ahead and tell you those stories were semi-autobiographical. Like y'all hadn't already guessed that though...
Alright on to my amazing thoughts on movies.
I like summer b/c the stupid/fun movies show up in droves. Much like scantily clad women at the apartment pool, which of course, I don't notice anymore now that I'm engaged.
So far I've caught a few of the exciting summer movies and here's some of my brief impressions:
Indiana Jones: Thought it was awesome, but I may not be the best judge as I thought Temple of Doom was the best of the first three. (yes, something is wrong with me)
Speed Racer: Saw it alone at noon two days ago. It is perfectly true to the original cartoon with some high-tech updates. I almost cried at how good I felt it was.
The New Narnia Movie: Maybe the best of all the ones I've seen so far. I did choke back tears because Aslan (He's Jesus, you know) is awesome.
So what's noticeably missing from my list? Iron Man. There are two reasons for this...Iron Man is a lame super-hero in comic-book form, and I'm still pissed at Marvel Comics for Spider-Man 3. Peter Parker--Emo? I don't think so. Until someone is publicly executed for this crime, I will likely not be viewing Marvel Movies.
This might be hard as Hulk opens tomorrow. The Incredible Hulk is one of my favorites, and it's going to be hard to miss this one, but it does have three strikes against it right off the bat. What are those three strikes? Glad you asked:
Strike 1: They made this movie about 3-4 years ago and it sucked. The director got way too artsy with it and there was virtually no action. No action in an Incredible Hulk movie? INCONCEIVABLE!!! With Eric Bana as Bruce Banner, and Jennifer Connelly (yum yum) as the love interest it had soooo much promise, but unfortunately in true Marvel fashion it managed to suck epically.
Strike 2: Casting--Ed Norton. They've cast Fight Club as the Hulk. I'm going to say it, he's a great actor, but he and his characters bug the shit out of me. He's always a little creepy. Bruce Banner was never a little creepy. He was a lot nerdy and a lot tortured soul, but never creepy.
Liv Tyler. Live Tyler is pretty. Very pretty in fact, but Jennifer Connelly will always get the edge in my book as a love interest. Plus there's the fact that Liv is Steven Tyler of Aerosmith's kid. What if you're making out with her and suddenly Love in an Elevator comes on the soundtrack? Or Angel? Or any number of Aerosmith hits? Are you still making out with Liv, or in your head, are you looking at her and seeing Steven's lips?
I'll wait for you to finish throwing up in your mouth before I move on.
When they cast the ViciousCycler movie and they put that red-headed kid from Major Payne in the lead role (you know, the same nerdy guy who stayed up all night talking to that one girl in American Pie, but told everyone he scored. He was in Angus too--yeah I watched Angus.) I will have a short list of actresses to cast as his love-interest. Liv Tyler won't make that list. Jennifer Connely will. She'll be right behind Lauren Graham (Lorelei from Gilmore girls).
Strike 3: No Lou Ferrigno. Look, say what you want about him and the old show, but it was a classic. It was the Hulk done right. All three of the made for TV movies with the old TV show cast were better than the last Blockbuster Hulk movie. You can get ILM and all the special effects you want, but the Hulk will always be ol' Lou in my mind. I bet they find a way to get him a cameo, but he won't be the Hulk, and that will make it not right in my book.
That's all I have to say. I know you care. I'll try to think up something useful/funny for tomorrow. Now I'm going to go to my friend's house and not write another short story. Avoiding responsibility and goals/deadlines is awesome.

| I'm on summer vacation now. Well at least for the rest of the week. Next week I start Summer School, but it's only two weeks, so not too bad there.
I need the money. I'm getting married in November, and we will be getting a rent house, so I need to be able to pick up extraneous wedding costs and put a deposit on the rent house which is usually around a grand I hear.
Other than that not much has changed in my life since my last posts. I still like Texas Country music. I still like beer and foods that are bad for me. There's still lots of packets of fast-food condiments in the butter-house of my fridge. Possums are still my mortal enemies.
I haven't been riding my bike enough, but that changes today. Taking my pastor riding at an easy trail near my house. Should be good times.
Most of my writing effort has been going into fiction, hence the death of this blog, which I'm obviously in the process of resuscitating.
I've written two short stories about a teacher. One involves zombies, the other Cthullu-like demons. And as I sit here in the coffee shop, I'm trying to decide whether I should finish my story about the demon weedeater borrowed from the wrong neighbor or tackle the opening line I picked up from writer's group last time, "A cow needs a reason."
I'll get back to you.

| I've been busy. Living life. I'm sorry. I keep meaning to write here, but I'm so busy writing fiction.
I have a girlfriend now. I think she'll be a fiance' before this time next year.
I will try to think of good things to put here. Bring it all back. Sunday Night Lyrics. Random days...odd stuff. I'll see what I can do. Really. I hope anyone who ever read this page is doing well.

| Soon. Very Soon. I will bring crazy back.
